Alumni Spotlight: Grace (Dunn) Minarik ![]()
Class of 2014
What is your best memory at LCCS?
Our class was pretty close, I loved classes where we got to do activities all together.
----------
What extracurriculars did you participate in?
Band, Choir, Jazz Band, and Theater
----------
What was your favorite class? Why?
I really enjoyed environmental science because we got to go outside a lot, also really enjoyed art and jazz band, but also loved all of the music classes.
----------
Was there a staff member who made a big impact on you? If so, who and why?
I will say that all of these teachers were spectacular, had high expectations, and were great at giving out challenges while doing their best to help students when needed... Alan Jacobus, Ryan Wilson, Kevin St. Onge, and Joanna Izzard.
----------
What advice would you give to current students at LCCS?
Allow teachers to challenge you and don't be afraid to ask for help. If you love a class, put lots into it!
----------
If you live in the Les Cheneaux area, what is your favorite part about living here? If you do not live in the Les Cheneaux Area, what do you miss most about the area?
I love being surrounded by woods, water, and people who share the same joys.
----------
What are you doing now?
I went to Northern Michigan University in Marquette for my Associates degree, got married, then went to Cosmetology School in East Lansing, had our daughter, and I've been doing hair and raising her since! I'm very family oriented, I love music, being outdoors, arts/crafts, and baking/cooking.
