Good morning, Islanders! Albeit a short week, we got our first couple spring practices in, and it's great to see so many kiddos out there working hard! Our next goal is to start getting them outside...fingers crossed that will be soon!
Here is this upcoming week's practice and meet schedule. The softball and baseball double header schedule for the 9th in Mackinaw City has been cancelled, of course; but we are going to try and reschedule.
Please check your kiddo's practice times and let us know if you have any questions. There will be a bus available for all practices this week.

Due to current road conditions, LCCS will be on a 2 hour delay. School will start at 10:00 this morning. No breakfast will be served. Buses will pick up your child approximately two hours later than normal. Students will enter the building through the same doors as they normally do.
All 10th, 11th, and 12th graders are invited to join our CMU and Mid-Michigan college tours on April 15! If you're interested, see Mrs. Duncan.
Good morning...due to DeTour Area Schools sending kids home early today, there will be NO Middle or High School sports practices today, April 2. Thank you for your patience and undestanding. Please have a safe afternoon.
School will resume tomorrow, April 2nd. Tomorrows weather does project to be poor, so similar to days that the weather looks poor, I will be driving the roads early to determine if it's safe to have school in session. That determination will be made prior to 6:15 a.m.

Les Cheneaux Community Schools will be closed on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 under recommendation of the Mackinac County Sheriff's Office. This is due to the ongoing ice issues, and the potential for future power outages.
School will resume on Wednesday, April 2nd.

As we approach the business of our springs sports seasons, we want to make sure everyone is on the same page regarding transportation.
All of our high school , as well as our middle school track and golf, teams will have transportation provided to and from practices and games or meets.
Becasue Middle School Baseball and Softball are still club-level sports, school transportation will NOT be provided unless a run is already scheduled for another group. Please refer to our Middle School Baseball and Softbal coaches, or ADs Galarowic or Miller for further clarification. Thank you...have a great weekend!
Please remind your high school baseball or softball player to get their team sweatshirt money turned in no later than Monday. Players should have received "invoices" from their coaches on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thank you.

Here are the brackets for next week's elementary Girls Basketball tournament and championship game. The tournament will be held at the LSSU Norris Center on Monday. The championship game will take place the next day at JKL.

Calling all High School Baseball and Softball players...practices start Tuesday!
Take a look at practice locations and times for the next two weeks. We know that the times for March 17-19 are off from what our ferry schedule is...and we are working on making sure that no one has any unnecessary wait times.
Because of the large number of players and a small indoor space, Coach Lohff will have TWO baseball practice sessions this upcoming week...one in Cedarville and one in DeTour. The boys can stay in the respective schools for their practice. Contact Mr. Lohff with any questions.
As for softball, all the girls will practice together in Cedarville this upcoming week and DeTour the following week.
All ball players, please have your glove and a good pair of running shoes.
As any changes take place, we'll let you know as soon as possible.
