Good afternoon - Just a reminder breakfast and lunch is free for all students this school year. The district still needs families to fill out the free and reduced lunch applications. This will allow families to be eligible for summer EBT benefits if families income meets the guidelines. Applications are available on our website or at the school. Also, any student that wishes to get ice cream, cookies, or ala carte items must have cash or a positive lunch balance. No charging will be allowed moving forward. Good morning, All K-12 students at LCCS will be receiving free breakfast and lunch. LCCS is excited to be offering this to our students. Those families that would normally qualify for free or reduced lunches through an application are still encouraged to fill out the application. This will allow higher reimbursement rates for our school and families may be eligible for other benefits through the State of Michigan. Attention parents of high schoolers. If your student plans on taking an online course this fall, please contact our new school counselor Mrs. Duncan to confirm what course your child will be taking. Please join us for back to school night on Wednesday, August 30th in the school library from 5-7pm. School pictures will not be taken this year at back to school night. Elementary students have the opportunity to visit their classroom and drop off their school supplies. Middle/High school students can come and pick up class schedules. High School students can make schedule changes. School supplies will be available. Parents can update registration forms, sign up for transportation, fill out free/reduced lunch applications, and more.

Good morning, "Coffee with the Superintendent" will resume on Wednesday, August 9th. This will take place at Ang-Gios Restaurant at 11:00 a.m. This is an opportunity for community members and parents to obtain information regarding the district, and ask any questions you may have. These informational sessions will take place the second Wednesday of every month. Lastly, there is a special board meeting on Monday, August 7th. This will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the library. This meeting is regarding the upcoming school bond. More information on this potential bond will be shared after Monday's meeting. High School fall sports will begin Monday August 7th in Cedarville from 8-10am. All athletes must have a current physical on file in order to participate. The start of our Islanders fall season is quickly approaching! Below you will have a layout of our August practice and scrimmage/game schedule. As we get into next week, check back for a more specific day to day schedule regarding transportation, etc. Please understand the possibility of slight changes along the way. Any student in grades 6th - 12th interested in playing sports this school year, you MUST have a current sports physical on file with the school prior to the first day of practice. If you do not have a current sports physical you will not be able to participate until it is completed. Fall sports for high school students will begin on August 7th. Fall sports for middle school students will begin August 21st.

**School Closure** Due to projected low visibility and extreme cold temperatures in the early morning, LCCS will be closed on Friday, February 3rd. After school events and/or practices will be decided by the early afternoon. Have a great weekend.
